Morfología y decoración de la cerámica en el sector sur de cerro Ventarrón en el valle bajo Chancay - Lambayeque

Abstract

El presente estudio se desarrolló en el sitio arqueológico de cerro Ventarrón, en el valle bajo de Chancay–Lambayeque. El objetivo general de la investigación fue determinar la morfología y decoración de la cerámica del sector sur de cerro Ventarrón en el valle bajo de Lambayeque. El tipo de investigación fue descriptivo con un diseño no experimental, con un muestreo no probabilístico. Se aplicó una prospección superficial sin recojo de materiales, que comprendió la sectorización del área sur del sitio, abarcando 44,000 metros cuadrados, con la técnica de transectos. Se registraron 86 fragmentos diagnósticos. Los resultados evidencian un predominio de formas cerradas (87.2 %) y decoración paleteada (43 %), rasgos que permiten indicar que este sector, está asociado al Periodo Lambayeque Tardío, caracterizado por la simplificación formal y el contacto con la esfera Chimú. Se concluyó que la cerámica del sector sur de Ventarrón constituye una manifestación representativa de la tradición Lambayeque, expresando continuidad tecnológica y variabilidad estilística. Los rasgos distintivos de la tradición Lambayeque definieron la identidad cerámica regional.

This study was carried out at the archaeological site of Cerro Ventarrón, in the lower valley of Chancay-Lambayeque. The general objective of the research was to determine the morphology and decoration of the pottery of the southern sector of Cerro Ventarrón in the lower valley of Lambayeque. The type of research was descriptive with a non-experimental design, with non-probabilistic sampling. A superficial prospection was applied without material collection, which included the sectorization of the southern area of the site, covering 44,000 square meters, with the transect technique. A total of 86 diagnostic fragments were recorded. The results show a predominance of closed forms (87.2 %) and palette decoration (43 %), features that indicate that this sector is associated with the Late Lambayeque Period, characterized by formal simplification and hybridization with the Chimu sphere. It was concluded that the ceramics of the southern sector of Ventarrón constitute a representative manifestation of the Lambayeque tradition, expressing technological continuity and stylistic variability. The distinctive features of the Lambayeque tradition defined the regional ceramic identity.
