Taller audiovisual para mejorar las habilidades investigativas en estudiantes de II ciclo de ciencias de la comunicación de la USS 2019

Abstract

La universidad es la cuna de la investigación y de la formación de investigadores, pero qué tan comprometidas en sus mallas curriculares, en su metodología y didáctica están con este punto, las universidades en su mayoría ven a la investigación como el punto final en el camino de la formación profesional de los estudiantes, proponiendo en los últimos ciclos el primer acercamiento a las investigaciones. Para muchos estudiantes es entrar a un campo nuevo, extraño y poco entendible que normalmente enfrentan con mucha intuición, pero con poca formación. El objetivo de este trabajo es determinar las habilidades investigativas de los estudiantes universitarios de la carrera profesional de Ciencias de la Comunicación y luego elaborar una propuesta didáctica que pueda relacionar los contenidos curriculares de un curso con la formación de habilidades investigativas. Para este fin, la pregunta de investigación es la siguiente: ¿Cómo integrar las habilidades investigativas en estudiantes universitarios de la carrera profesional de Ciencias de la Comunicación en una propuesta didáctica audiovisual partiendo de su realidad social? Teniendo en cuenta que los saberes en producción audiovisual (en especial en la realización de documentales) están estrechamente ligados con la investigación. Es así como ambas pueden verse beneficiadas con el desarrollo de habilidades investigativas en los estudiantes. Para desarrollar y responder esta pregunta se recurrió a una encuesta en línea a estudiantes del curso de Producción audiovisual de la carrera de ciencias de la comunicación de II ciclo, donde se buscó indagar 4 bloques importantes: social, didáctica, producción audiovisual y habilidades investigativas. Las respuestas obtenidas muestran en buena parte, el desconocimiento sobre el desarrollo, métodos, herramientas y técnicas de investigación, así como el escaso compromiso de los docentes y la currícula en proponer una didáctica formativa en investigación. Teniendo en cuenta esto, se recomienda que las universidades a través de su trabajo curricular y los docentes en su didáctica impartida en los cursos que tienen a cargo busquen la mejor forma de integrar los saberes con el desarrollo de habilidades investigativas, esto daría pie a una generación de estudiantes aptos para investigar y dispuestos a hacerlo.

The university is the research’s cradle and training of researchers, but how engaged are they in their study plans, in their methodology and didactics in this point? Most universities see the research as the final point on the way of the professional formation of the students, proposing during the last cycles the first approach to research. For many students it is like entering to a new, strange and a little understandable field that they normally face with a lot of intuition, but with little training. The objective of this work is to determine the investigative skills of the university students of the professional career of Communication Sciences and then to elaborate a didactic proposal that can relate the curricular contents of a course with the formation of investigative skills. For this purpose, the research question is the following: How to integrate the investigative skills in university students of the professional career of Communication Sciences in an audiovisual didactic proposal based on their social reality? Having known that the full knowledge in audiovisual production (especially in the production of documentaries) are closely linked to the research. This is how both can benefit from the development of investigative skills in students. To develop and answer this question, an online quiz was used to students of the Audiovisual Production course of the Communication Sciences career of the second cycle, where it was requested to investigate 4 important blocks: social, didactic, audiovisual production and investigative skills. The answers obtained mostly show the lack of knowledge about the development, methods, tools and research techniques, as well as the low commitment of teachers and the study plans in proposing a training didactics in research. Knowing what’s mentioned before, it is recommended that universities, through their curricular work and teachers in their didactics taught in the courses that they’re in charge of, seek the best way to integrate the knowledge with the development of investigative skills, this would give rise to a generation of students really able to investigate and willing to do it.
