diseño no experimental-transversal.
The current study examines the susceptibility of the Guillermo Baca Aguinaga market
in the José Leonardo Ortiz district - Chiclayo - Lambayeque. Its infrastructure, constructed
with durable materials, lacks a roof, leading to flooding and exposure to UV radiation across a
total area of 2309.90 m² and a perimeter of 200 m. The overall objective was to conduct a
structural analysis and propose a design to improve the market's commercialization and
supply conditions. Methodologically, this work follows an applied investigative framework
utilizing a quantitative method along with a a non-experimental, cross-sectional layout. Direct
observation and technical data sheets were used to diagnose the existing infrastructure. The
technical and functional results determined the need for an architectural proposal with large
spans and double-height ceilings at the ground level intended to to optimize commercial
service. The results of the topographic survey corroborated the field measurements with the
municipal cadastral map and Registry Entry No. P10027971-SUNARP. For its part, the
E.M.S. The study determined the existence of a soil type S3 (low and high plasticity clays),
registering an allowable bearing capacity ranging from 0.84 to 1.24 kg/cm², through the
excavation of five test pits. The water table was found at a distance of 1.50 m. Due to the
irregular shape of the terrain, a structure divided into six independent blocks separated by
seismic joints was chosen. The structural analysis validated the use of 25 cm thick walls to
maintain drifts of less than 0.007 m, incorporating 60 and 70 cm thick foundation slabs and
two types of metal roofing: three typical roofs with regular geometry and one irregularly
shaped roof, fitted to the complexity regarding the central area. It can be stated concluded that
the proposal guarantees a resilient infrastructure, and it is recommended that the detailed
plans for the six blocks included in the appendices be meticulously detailed to guarantee the
precision accuracy of the structural project.
