cuantitativo, y diseño no experimental transversal.
sostenibilidad a largo plazo.
The objective of this research was to design a drinking water and sewage system
in the town of Yuracyacu, Rioja District, San Martín, 2024. It corresponds to an applied
study, descriptive level, quantitative approach, and non-experimental cross-sectional
design. The population consisted of 4,702 residents of Yuracyacu, while the sample
consisted of 350 people. Techniques such as surveys and field observations were
applied. The findings regarding the evaluation of the current drinking water and sewage
system showed critical deficiencies in coverage, quality of service, age of the
infrastructure and lack of treatment, with only 62% coverage for water and 58% for
sewage, in addition to significant losses and health risks. The population expressed
urgent needs, such as continuous access to water, adequate sanitation services, and the
economic impossibility of accessing alternative solutions. Given this situation, a
comprehensive technical proposal was designed to address local conditions through
efficient water collection, treatment, distribution, and collection systems, utilizing lowcost operating technologies and a vision for long-term sustainability. The proposed
design considers population growth and seeks to improve public health and quality of
life. In conclusion, the comprehensive design of the drinking water and sewage system
in Yuracyacu meets the criteria of universal coverage, technical feasibility,
sustainability, and significant improvement in the sanitary and social conditions of the
town.
