This research study was conducted in Chiclayo to evaluate the effectiveness of different insecticides in reducing Myzus persicae (Sulzer) populations and minimizing economic and phytosanitary damage to yellow chili pepper crops under the agroclimatic conditions of Chiclayo, as well as to assess the toxic effects of these chemicals on beneficial insects. Two field trials were conducted: one in the city of Eten and another at the INIA experimental station in Vista Florida (Chiclayo). A completely randomized block design (CRBD) was used, with 9 treatments and 4 replicates. In the first trial, Movento OD (0.025% and 0.030%) and Actup WG (0.025%) were the most effective against M. persicae, achieving up to 58.68% immediate control after 2 days and up to 90.51% residual effect after 12 days; the toxicity of the treatments was not evaluated. In the second trial, eight treatments achieved immediate control of more than 50% against M. persicae within two days. Movento OD at 0.030% stood out (68.61% effectiveness), followed by specific doses of Actup WG, Dantotsu PM, and Confidor 70 WG. Furthermore, all treatments showed excellent residual efficacy at twelve days (95.13% to 100% efficacy), with Movento OD (0.030% and 0.025%) and Confidor 70 WG (0.035%) standing out with 100% efficacy, followed by Dantotsu PM 0.035% (98.72%) and Confidor 70 WG 0.030% (97.60%). Following application, ladybug populations declined to the point of near extinction by day 12, except in the control group and in certain treatment groups (Movento OD, Actup WG, and Dantotsu PM), where there was temporary survival or resistance; however, the insects’ high mobility and the small sample size make it impossible to assess the exact toxicity of each product.es_PE
