Radio Mobile y Packet Tracer.
Ferreñafe province, Lambayeque, faces limited connectivity due to its rural location, Andean
topography and scarce telecommunications infrastructure. This research aimed to design an access
and distribution network to improve that connectivity, following a quantitative, applied approach
with experimental design and controlled simulation. Three access alternatives were evaluated
wireless radio link, fiber optics and satellite link along with the internal distribution network design
through VLAN segmentation. A demand of 240 Mbps for 40 concurrent users was determined,
modeling the geographic environment as input for simulations in LINKPlanner, Radio Mobile and
Packet Tracer. Results showed that all three alternatives are technically feasible: the radio link
reached 449.75 Mbps aggregated with availability close to 100 %; fiber optics offered 100 Mbps
scalable to 1 Gbps with 99.91 % availability; and the satellite link allowed 212 Mbps download
speed with 28 ms latency. The comparative analysis determined that fiber optics is the most
convenient alternative, while the radio link and satellite link represent viable backups. This
confirms the hypothesis: designing the network improves the connectivity of I.E. 10789.
