The objective of this research was to determine the level of knowledge, attitudes
and practices on dengue prevention and control of patients in a Level III-1 Hospital.
This research seeks to identify the degree of knowledge that patients have about
dengue, their attitudes towards preventive measures and their level of practice in
the prevention and control of this mosquito-transmitted disease. By understanding
these aspects, more effective strategies can be designed to educate the population.
The methodology used was the scientific method of correlational level, with a non-
experimental cross-sectional design; The sample consisted of 150 patients;
Likewise, the survey technique was used, and the questionnaire as an instrument to
evaluate the 3 variables. In a Level III-1 Hospital, it was identified that the majority
of patients have limited knowledge about Dengue prevention, with 54.67% in this
category. Furthermore, it is highlighted that 58.7% of patients show an unfavorable
attitude towards the prevention of this disease, and only 12.7% follow correct
prevention practices, while 87.3% have incorrect practices. This discrepancy
between attitudes and practices highlights the need to implement specific
interventions to translate positive attitudes into concrete prevention actions, which
could be essential to reduce the incidence of Dengue in this hospital population.
