Autoestima y ansiedad en estudiantes de secundaria de una institución educativa de Lambayeque

Abstract

La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo determinar la relación entre autoestima y ansiedad en estudiantes de secundaria de una institución educativa de Lambayeque, para tal fin se tomó en cuenta una metodología cuantitativa y el diseño correlacional, en 56 estudiantes de 3ro a 5to de secundaria a quienes se les aplicó el Inventario de Autoestima de Coopersmith forma escolar e Inventario de Ansiedad Estado-Rasgo para niños y adolescentes, instrumentos que cuentan con evidencias de confiabilidad y validez; después del uso de dichos instrumentos se empleó el coeficiente de correlación Pearson, lo que permitió concluir que, existe una correlación de grado bajo y de tipo inversa (r=-.310) estadísticamente significativa (p=.016) entre la autoestima y la ansiedad estado, del mismo modo, existe una correlación de grado moderado y de tipo inversa (r=-.456) estadísticamente significativa (p=.000) entre la autoestima y la ansiedad rasgo.

The present research had the objective of determining the relationship between self-esteem and anxiety in high school students of an educational institution in Lambayeque. To this end, a quantitative methodology and a correlational design were used in 56 students from 3rd to 5th grade of high school to whom the Coopersmith Self-Esteem Inventory in school form and the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory for children and adolescents were applied, instruments that have evidence of reliability and validity; after the use of these instruments, the Pearson correlation coefficient was used, which allowed us to conclude that there is a low degree correlation and of inverse type (r=-. 310) statistically significant (p=.016) between self-esteem and state anxiety; similarly, there is a moderate correlation of inverse type (r=-.456) statistically significant (p=.000) between self-esteem and trait anxiety.
