Historia de vida de personas portadoras de Cáncer de Testículo, Orquiectomía y quimioterapia en un Hospital del MINSA II- de Piura 2025.

Abstract

Objetivo: caracterizar las historias de vida de las personas con cáncer testicular, orquiectomía y tratamiento de quimioterapia de un Hospital del MINSA de Piura, 2025. Metodología: estudio cualitativo, abordaje de historia de vida, participaron 10 personas de 15 a 35 años; portadoras de cáncer de testículo, sometidos a orquiectomía y quimioterapia ambulatoria, recolectándose los datos por entrevista semiestructurada con su respectiva guía validada por juicio de 4 expertos, el análisis de datos es cualitativo, temático. Se aplicaron los principios éticos de respeto a la persona, beneficencia y justicia. Resultados: analizada la historia de vida de los pacientes, en las líneas de tiempo antes, durante y después del diagnóstico y tratamientos, se evidenció hechos importantes como su vida tranquila y feliz rodeados de amigos y seres queridos antes del diagnóstico. Al conocer el diagnóstico, experimentaron miedo, tristeza incertidumbre, y aislamiento social. La orquiectomía provocó dudas sobre su masculinidad y capacidad reproductiva, Los efectos colaterales de la quimioterapia afectaron su autoestima y percepción de su imagen corporal. El apoyo emocional y la esperanza fueron fundamentales para resistir los efectos del tratamiento. En el camino, muchos respondieron resilientemente gracias al apoyo de familia, amigos, personal de salud y su fe en Dios, permitiéndoles afrontar positivamente la situación. Consideraciones finales: en esta historia de vida destaca la felicidad antes del diagnóstico, al conocerlo experimentaron cambios físicos, emocionales, sociales personales y familiares; encontraron esperanza y fueron resilientes como mecanismo de defensa para aceptar su realidad, resaltando la importancia de un cuidado holístico e integral.

Objective: To characterize the life stories of individuals with testicular cancer, orchiectomy, and chemotherapy treatment at a MINSA hospital in Piura, 2025.Methodology: This is a qualitative study, utilizing a life history approach. Ten individuals aged 15 to 35, diagnosed with testicular cancer, who underwent orchiectomy and outpatient chemotherapy treatment, participated in the study. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, with a guide validated by a panel of four experts. The data analysis was qualitative, thematic. Ethical principles of respect for persons, beneficence, and justice were applied. Results: The life histories of the patients, before, during, and after diagnosis and treatments, were analyzed. The research shows that initially, they lived peaceful lives and were happy, surrounded by friends and loved ones. Upon receiving the news, they experienced fear, sadness, and uncertainty, accompanied by social isolation. Orchiectomy led to doubts about their masculinity and reproductive capacity, while the side effects of chemotherapy affected their self-esteem and body image. Emotional support and hope were fundamental in resisting the effects of treatment. Along the way, many responded resiliently, supported by family, friends, healthcare personnel, and their faith in God, which helped them cope positively with the situation. Final Considerations: The individuals studied found hope and were resilient as a defense mechanism to accept the reality of their situation, highlighting the importance of holistic and comprehensive care.
