2025. Método: estudio descriptivo transversal. La población fue 600 pacientes y la muestra
229. Se les aplicó el cuestionario “Caring Assessment Instrument” (confiabilidad α = 0,96;
validez 0,88).
Objective: To determine the level of quality of nursing care perceived by patients treated in
the Emergency Department of a hospital in Chiclayo, in June 2025. Method: A descriptive
cross-sectional study. The population was 600 patients and the sample 229. The “Caring
Assessment Instrument” questionnaire was administered (reliability α = 0.96; validity 0.88).
The data were processed in Excel. Results: 23.1% of patients rated the quality of nursing
care at a medium level and 0.4% at a low level. The dimensions rated between medium and
low levels were “Anticipates” (54.6%), “Explains and facilitates” (53.7%), “Comfort”
(51.1%), and “Maintains a relationship of trust” (50.2%). Of these, the items considered
"never" or "sometimes" fulfilled by a percentage of patients were: in the first dimension, the
nurse helps the patient set reasonable goals, is attentive to their needs, agrees on a new
intervention plan, and provides attention during the experience; in the second, the nurse
provides clear and precise information about their health and teaches them how to take care
of themselves; in the third, the nurse engages in conversation, establishes physical contact,
and listens attentively; and in the fourth, the nurse allows patients to express their feelings
about their illness and treatment, is friendly and pleasant with their family and friends, and
puts the patient first. Conclusion: From the perspective of patients treated in the Emergency
Department, the quality of nursing care meets certain standards but requires improvements
to reach a high level and strengthen patient well-being.
