The objective of this study was to estimate a model to forecast monthly lemon
production in Peru using the Box-Jenkins methodology for the period from January through
December during the years 2010–2025. The study employed a quantitative, non-experimental,
and longitudinal approach. The sample consisted of lemon production data in Peru, expressed
in thousands of metric tons, obtained from the BCR.
The results showed that the model that best forecasts lemon production was a SARIMA
(1,0,0) (0,1,1)12 model, which had ar1 = 0.7542 and sma1 = -0.8550, with AIC = 817.4497,
BIC = 829.9456, and Ljung-Box Q = 24.172 (p = 0.3383). It is concluded that the estimated
model is suitable for describing and forecasting the monthly dynamics of lemon production in
Peru.
