La corriente ciclónica no organizada Yaku (2023) y su efecto sobre un importante centro productor de cuyes en Lambayeque

Abstract

En marzo de 2023 los peruanos, en general, y los del norte, en particular, estuvieron alarmados por los anuncios de los organismos estatales, vinculados al comportamiento climático, sobre la presentación de un ciclón en el mar peruano, cuyos efectos se sentirían con mayor intensidad en la costa norte. Como, efectivamente, ocurrió. En un afán alarmista se indicó que era una consecuencia del “cambio climático” que fue un Niño agravado. La informacion arqueo-antropológica indica que los ciclones no son novedad en el mar peruano, existe información muy anterior a la llegada de los españoles que identifican a un ciclón en el mar. La experiencia del Ing. Vásquez Ramírez le permite asumir que no fue un Niño, debido a que la alteración se presentó repentinamente y el Niño tiene un tiempo considerable de maduración. Lo que si es correcto que las precipitaciones pluviales, la temperatura y la humedad relativa elevadas afectaron, tanto directa como indirectamente, a la producción animal; sobre todo a los cuyes explotados en la región Lambayeque, por ser originarios de regiones completamente contrarias a la costa, sobre todo se afectó el comportamiento reproductivo. Es necesario que los productores comprendan que la infraestructura para albergar a los cuyes debe innovarse para proporcionárseles un ambiente ideal.
