In the present research work called "Class study as a methodological strategy in solving
mathematical problems, Educational Institution "José Faustino Sánchez Carrión" Trujillo, La
Libertad, 2019" it is assumed that Class study is a methodological strategy conducted by the
teachers themselves, in the preparation of the class to study, in the detailed design of the class
activities; in the preparation of questions to guide their students in the search for regularities,
in the formulation of conjectures and in the contents, and procedures, aimed at solving
mathematical problems. The type of research is descriptive-non-experimental, prospective;
The sample population considered is 38 students who make up the third grade of secondary
school at the "José Faustino Sánchez Carrión" educational institution in the city of Trujillo.
Among the results, 47% of respondents state that when an exercise does not work out, they
never ask for help at home or from their classmates; 39% of students think that even if they
don't have homework, they don't like going over math. Added to these attitudes are the 45%
of opinions that state that sometimes they do their math homework; as well as with the 39%
of opinions that say that sometimes they spend enough time to do math homework. Among
the conclusions is that a lesson plan in the subject of mathematics helps students review the
contents, explore new ideas, awaken their motivation and interest in knowledge of the
subject, and encourage them to venture into problem solving. mathematicians related to the
subject under study.
