tienden a alcanzar mejores resultados académicos.
This study examines the relationship between academic self-efficacy and learning in
history and geography among secondary school students at the San Martín Educational
Institution in Lambayeque. This is done in light of the learning difficulties observed and the
students’ low confidence in their own abilities. The objective was to analyze the relationship
between academic self-efficacy and learning in history and geography among secondary school
students at the San Martín Educational Institution in Lambayeque. The hypothesis was that there
is a significant relationship between academic self-efficacy and learning in the areas of history
and geography. The study was conducted using a basic quantitative approach with a descriptive-
correlational design. The sample consisted of 126 second-year secondary school students. The
Academic Self-Efficacy Scale (ACAES) was used for data collection, while the level of learning
was measured based on competency achievement levels, in accordance with the criteria
established by the Ministry of Education. The results showed a positive and significant
relationship between academic self-efficacy and learning (ρ = 0.555; p < 0.05), indicating that
students with higher levels of self-efficacy tend to achieve better academic results. In this regard,
it is important to emphasize the need to build students’ confidence in their abilities to improve
their performance.
