The title of the thesis is: Playful activities for the development of gross motor skills in 5-year-old children of the IE No 001, Jaén-Peru. Autonomy in the development of basic motor skills is key to the education and growth of children. This development, which includes activities such as running, jumping, sliding and turning, not only improves physical coordination, but also promotes self-expression and emotional balance in childhood. The objective was to propose a programme of play activities to develop the gross motor skills of 5-year-old children at IE No 001, Jaén-Peru. For this purpose, an applied type of research was used, under a non-experimental, descriptive, direct observation design, by means of observation and a checklist that was applied to 26 students, which made it possible to achieve the results. In addition, the following theories were chosen: natural process of cognitive development, the need to release excess energy, play as energetic feedback, play as anticipator and promoter of future performance, play capacity as early acquisition and synthesis of human cultural evolution. The proposal of a programme of play activities in the IE No 001 of Jaén is fundamental for the integral development of gross motor skills in 5-year-old children. Given the relevance of these activities in physical coordination, spatial awareness, postural control, and balance, the proposed programme promises not only to improve motor skills, but also to positively influence the emotional, social and cognitive well-being of the children. The title of the thesis is: Playful activities for the development of gross motor skills in 5-year-old children of the IE No 001, Jaén-Peru.
