tipo básica, nivel descriptivo, diseño no experimental y corte transversal.
Perceived physical well-being is a relevant dimension in adolescents’ school experience
because it expresses how students assess their physical condition and bodily capacity within
the educational setting. In rural contexts, the limited empirical evidence on this variable makes
it difficult to obtain contextualized diagnoses that can guide pedagogical decision-making.
Within this framework, the aim of this study was to assess the level of perceived physical well-
being among secondary school students at Educational Institution No. 16116 Manuel González
Prada, located in Pachapiriana, district of Chontalí, province of Jaén, in 2026. The methodology
corresponded to a quantitative approach, basic type, descriptive level, non-experimental
design, and cross-sectional scope. The population and sample consisted of 218 secondary
school students, using a non-probabilistic census sampling procedure. Data were collected
through the survey technique, and the Perceived Physical Well-Being Scale (PPASC) was used
as the instrument, consisting of 6 items distributed across the dimensions of perceived physical
adequacy and motor self-efficacy. The results showed that, in perceived physical adequacy,
47.71% reached the high level, 46.33% the medium level, and 5.96% the low level. In motor
self-efficacy, 55.96% reached the high level, 38.99% the medium level, and 5.05% the low
level. Overall, the high level of perceived physical well-being predominated with 55.96%,
followed by the medium level with 41.28% and the low level with 2.75%. These findings
indicate that most students positively value their physical state and bodily capacity in school
activities, although a smaller group still reports intermediate or low self-perceptions. It is
concluded that a favorable perception of physical condition predominated. Appropriate actions
are recommended.
