está conformada por 124 estudiantes de 4to y 5to de secundaria entre hombres y mujeres;
This research aims to determine the relationship between academic motivation and
academic performance of students from a secondary school in a rural area of the province of
Lambayeque. The methodology used corresponds to the quantitative, basic approach, with a non-
experimental design and a correlational level. The sample is made up of 124 students of 4th and
5th year of secondary school between men and women; selected by means of a simple random
probability sampling, with a margin of error of 5%. The instrument used was the McClelland
motivation questionnaire and the survey. The results were obtained from the data mechanism of
the descriptive and inferential statistics of the SPSS program in order to test the hypothesis, in
addition, Spearman's Rho test was used, from which a significant correlation was obtained at the
0.01 level. From this, it was evidenced that there is a weak positive correlation between academic
performance and academic motivation for achievement (Rho=0.056) and power (Rho=0.054),
while the academic motivation of affiliation (Rho=-0.184) had a weak negative correlation with
academic performance. Therefore, it was concluded that there is no significant relationship
between academic performance and the dimensions of academic motivation (achievement, power
and affiliation).
