inicial. This research studied the logical-mathematical concept of the object, considered
fundamental for learning mathematics. Fostering the concept of object from early
childhood is essential for developing competencies that will be consolidated in primary
education. The study was conducted with 98 five-year-old children from four classrooms
at the "Divino Niño Jesús" Early Childhood Education Center No. 0377, located in the
Carlos Cueto Fernandini Urbanization, Los Olivos – Lima. The general objective was to
identify the level of logical-mathematical knowledge of the object in the participating
children, and the specific objectives were: to characterize the Color Dimension; to
describe the Shape Dimension; to determine the Size Dimension; to ascertain the Length
Dimension; to determine the Weight Dimension; to investigate the Texture Dimension;
and to understand the Position Dimension, using an observation sheet as the instrument.
The research corresponds to a non-experimental, descriptive-cross-sectional design. The
results show that in the Color dimension, 79% reached Level A (achieved); In Shape,
46% reached Level A; in Size, 58% were at Level B (in progress); in Length, 77% were
at Level B; in Weight, 67% at Level B; in Texture, 58% at Level B; and in Position, 53%
achieved Level A. In the overall average of all dimensions, 34% of the children reached
Level A (achieved), 53% Level B (in progress) and 13% Level C (beginning),
demonstrating the need to strengthen educational experiences that consolidate the
development of logical-mathematical concepts in early childhood education.
